Brief product overview
================================================================================
Kaspersky Anti-Virus® 5.7 for Novell NetWare
(hereinafter referred to as Kaspersky Anti-Virus) is an anti-virus application
designed for protection of LAN file servers running Novell NetWare.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus offers the following features:
 * Real-time server protection – anti-virus scanning of all files being executed or modified,
   disinfection and/or removal of infected objects.
 * On-demand server scanning – sequential scanning of server files upon administrator's request
   or according to a schedule performed with the specified frequency.
   The product can disinfect and/or remove infected objects during the procedure.
 * Updating of the anti-virus databases – updates to the anti-virus databases
   used for scanning and propagation of updates to other servers within Novell NetWare LAN.
   Updates can be scheduled to run regularly and can be delivered to specified servers.
   An opportunity to create backup copies of the files being updated
   for a possible roll-back to their previous version is supported.
 * Event logging – creation of detailed reports about the results of on-demand server scanning,
   its real-time protection and updates to the anti-virus databases.
   You can review or print out the reports.
 * Backup copying – backup copies of all suspicious or infected objects
   are preserved prior to their disinfection or removal. 
   This feature helps restore the data in case of problems or errors
   during disinfection or removal.
 * Notification – administrators and users are informed about completed scanning procedures
   and warned about revealed malicious objects via the Novell NetWare network and e-mail.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus is based on client-server architecture.
The server part consists of three modules:
 * Kaspersky Anti-Virus, which provides for the anti-virus functionality.
 * Updater, which provides for updates to the anti-virus databases.
 * Network Agent, which provides for the interaction between Administration Server
   of Kaspersky Administration Kit and Kaspersky Anti-Virus® 5.7 for Novell NetWare. 
The client part consists of:
 * Management module for ConsoleOne.
 * Web-based management module.
 * Module for product management via Kaspersky Administration Kit.
The client part provides the user interface to the administrative services
of the application. It allows you to install the application, configure and control the server part.

System requirements

Hardware requirements:
 * Pentium CPU or higher.
 * At least 1 GB of available RAM.
 * At least 512 Mb of available disk space.

Software requirements:
 1. One of the following operating systems:
      * Novell NetWare 6.5 SP6 or later;
      * Novell NetWare 6.0 SP5 or later;
      * Novell NetWare 5.1 SP8 or later.

 2. Updated LIBC & DSAPI libraries

 3. Upgrade the eDirectory on the Netware server from NDS8.85C to eDirectory 8.7.3

 4. For installation and operation of the web module:

    * Tomcat servlet container (for installation and operation of the web module)
    * Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

Product installation
================================================================================

 * During installation Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7.5.27 removes
   earlier versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus versions. 
   The installer changes all files necessary for the functioning of version 5.7.5.27.
   In particular, it removes the configurations of previous versions.

 * To manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus via Kaspersky Administration Kit
   users must have Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0.2048.

Known issues and appropriate solutions
================================================================================
 * Kaspersky Network Agent (referred to as klnagent.nlm) is recommended
   when working in a protected address space of  Novell NetWare Server.

 * klnagent.nlm can be started by command:
   load address space = klnagent klnagent.nlm
   or by running  nagent-5.ncf executable
   
 * In case of failure klnagent.nlm can be shut down using:
   unload kill address space = klnagent

 * Managing the application through Kaspersky Administration Kit is limited to the following functions:
      * Of all the Network Agent management functional only agent port management function is available
      * Running tasks from a specified account is not supported.
      * Policies for mobile users are not supported.
      * Kaspersky Anti-Virus install/uninstall via Kaspersky Administration Kit is not supported.
      * Versioning of files in Quarantine/Backup is not supported
